Howard Minett is a Chartered Professional Accountant from the Chartered Accountant legacy. Howard has experience developing or auditing financial statements and internal controls for public, private or not-for-profit entities. His roles have included financial analyst, senior financial manager, director of financial funding compliance in long-term care, a Sarbanes Oxley Act (U.S.) project consultant for a publically traded manufacturing company and subject matter expert for a stakeholder agency in long-term care. As a financial assurance specialist, Howard has managed a wide array of clients.
Howard’s early years were spent in north eastern British Columbia, after his family emigrated from England. They established a poultry farm near Fort Nelson. Howard’s experiences on the farm inspired him to pursue a degree in agriculture at the University of Guelph. After graduating, he decided he would best be able to serve agriculture if he worked from outside rather than within and began pursuit of his Chartered Accountant designation, which he achieved in 1998.
Howard is active in the Stratford community, currently serving as treasurer and member of Gallery 96, a community of visual artists and supporting members, and as a volunteer with the Perth District Health Unit’s Elements program, a lunch-hour mentorship program for boys in grades 7 and 8. He has also served as a member of the compliance audit committee for the Township of Perth South and as financial agent and treasurer for the Perth-Wellington Electoral District Association (Green Party).
