“Howard Minett is developing as a conceptual artist. He is searching for a visual vocabulary to express the ideas that are the basis of his art explorations. Howard’s art works exist in the space of conceptual art, the tradition in which the visual product is not the central concern, the ideas are paramount. Howard is exploring ways to clearly convey his ideas which by their nature are abstract. Howard is exploring the trajectory of personal roles in society, work, environment, and legacy. He has also explored issues of nation, time management, workload commitments, work/life balance. These ideas can been seen to be informed by his work as an accountant, and the issues accountants deal with on a regular basis related to cycles of life of his clients as well as his own life experiences. Howard can also be inspired by the intersection of these ideas with the visual evidence some of them make in the world, like shadows cast on a wall, changing over time, capturing this visual demarcation of time in photographs, capturing not the object but the shadow.”

Introduction
Welcome to the creative area of my website. I am excited to have a virtual gallery to showcase my creativity.
Previously I presented my art work in Gallery 96 shows @Factory163 in Stratford, Ontario. Typically, though, folks haven’t understood my art work; I think that is because it is different. Hopefully that will change, as this virtual medium affords the opportunity to add some written explanatory material. The art work is still different, but with any luck, maybe it will be more understandable.
I don’t hold myself out to be an artist, per se. Ultimately, the intent has been to complement my professional practice, by creating images to inspire action. However, I recognize that you, the viewer, may need a bit of a nudge to make the connection…

Three of my creative objectives are to create art that is accessible, inter-active and affordable. To date accessibility has been a bit of issue. However, each individual piece is thought provoking, hands-on tactile and reasonably priced. For example, a Canadian Flipbook costs $5.00 plus G or H or QST. Click on the Buy Now button to make the connection… Alternatively, visit Studio 31B @Factory163, on King Street in Stratford, Ontario. My studio houses a number of individual art works that are aimed at capturing aspects of nature’s spirit. In addition, I have several installation works in progress that are aimed at helping humanity out of nature’s way.
